Umami Burger The Grove - Los Alamitos

I went to the restaurant expecting to order the Ahi Burger, but they didn't have it even though it was listed on the menu I saw. I ended up getting the Classic Burger to-go. The server informed me that the restaurant had been bought out and the menu had changed. They really need to update their online menu. I was left feeling disappointed.

I used to love Umami for their elevated burgers, but I am disappointed with the changes made by the new ownership. The food quality has decreased significantly, and what used to be a delicious manly burger now resembles something you would find in a mall food court. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant. I want to make it clear that the in-house staff at this location were still friendly and professional.

Our server Alex was incredible. Friendly, fast, and helpful even though they were very short staffed. The burger and chicken sandwich were great. Kids loved playing in the play ground.

I ordered the truffle burger, which was good, but all it came with was a bun, the grilled meat and some truffle oil infused melted cheese. For the $11.00 it should at least have some trimmings. The location is great and I would go back, but it's basically a dressed up fast food restaurant and my expectations would be adjusted accordingly.

Umami Burger has undergone a significant decline in quality. Once known for their superior and innovative burgers, the restaurant now offers just another generic fast food burger experience.
