Contribuiți la feedbackWe stayed one night and ate at the restaurant. It’s normally closed on a Monday but we were lucky there was a large party of local people so it was open. Despite them also catering for a large group out service was very good. Grace was extremely friendly and attentive. We had some raw veg served to whet our appetite. Then we shared a mixed starter which was excellent. The steak that followed was perfectly cooked. We had breakfast the next day which included cold meats, cheese, eggs, bread, jams, yogurt and numerous pastries. Very good with plentiful choices, although nothing hot was included. We were the only people for breakfast and there was more than enough food and selections.
We dined here for a week as part of a group tour of Tuscany. Based on reviews, we had high expectations, but meals were disappointing. Our all inclusive tour provided a menu with two choices for each course. Selections were made each day at breakfast. Food was of very poor quality and often inedible. The amount of food being returned did not seem to concern the cook. Service was slow 3 hrs to serve food that was ordered at breakfast! On line pictures of their food have no likeness to the “food” we got. Perhaps there was a change in cook, or our tour company had budget restrictions that limited their ability to serve appetizing food. I learned from a fellow guest a new way to describe a piece of tough pork that we were offered – “dry as a biscuit” – most apt! Although meals were included in our tour, we escaped with other guests 3 times to restaurants in town where we enjoyed great food. By day 6, the hotel seemed to have got the message (possibly due to complaints to our tour company) and we were told Ristorante la Ferriera wanted to make amends for their poor meals by offering us dinner from the more expensive à la carte menu. So instead of going into the town for our final night group dinner, we cancelled our reservations at the better locations, and decided to give them one final chance. What a mistake, the meals were no better. Based on this 7 day experience, I suggest this place be avoided – there are several much better restaurants within walking distance.
We really enjoyed our elegant dinners and casual buffet breakfasts. Every day of our 7-day stay, we were greeted by absolutely wonderful staff members and wait staff. We were fortunate to have Grace as our wine server and she had excellent recommendations. Every morning, at breakfast, Virginia would give us a menu for the night's dinner options. As we do have dietary restrictions, Virginia took extra good care of us and allowed us to request non-menu items. We really appreciated that kindness. The half-board resident-guests do have a different menu from the non-resident guests but that did not limit us and we had wonderful meals all 7 days. As with everything in life, some meals were more to our liking than others. Still, we so appreciated the creativity and presentation. Summer outdoor dining begins at 7 p.m. was very charming and the views of the river, bridge, and hills was the best scenery imaginable. Breakfasts are served in the old flour mill and the building has so much character. Virginia put out a very ample offering every morning and made some of the best espresso we had the pleasure to taste. We really appreciated the availability of the half-board meal plan as it took the uncertainty out of wondering where to go for dinner every night. The restaurant was the perfect combination of elegant and casual.
Restaurant in the context of the residence of the same name. We had been there a while ago and our experience was positive. the interior is characterized by some elements originating in the place: A crown. availability of external tables, very suggestive the waterfall with the river that laps the restaurant. quality ratio standard price, parking available on site.
