The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Debra (the waitress that attended is that day my four year old little girl took a liking to her. Would definitely stop here if I ever pass by here again. : P.S Unlike what Mr.Marcus Williams stated I did park my tractor in their parking and nobody said anything. Don't know what his situation was but I parked just fine and no one said a word.
Have seen the signs on I35 for many years and always said we need to try it. We did. Stopped at Raymond's for lunch. It must have been after the rush hour. Buffet line almost empty, waitress not very cordial. Catfish was pretty good but not hot nor very tasty. Appearance was rather dirty looking and not very enticing. Will not go back or recommend to anyone else.
We stopped by for lunch on a road trip from Dallas to Austin. Heckuva buffet for a heckuva price, and pleasantly smart-aleky waitstaff. My husband had the all-you-can-eat for $9.79, and loaded his plate with copious amounts of fried meats and a large dollop of the carrot soufflé, which, OMG, could have been on the dessert buffet. His faves were the fried catfish and salmon croquette. He had the banana pudding for dessert, and was in heaven. (I resisted writing hog heaven. I went meatless for $7.79 (a one-meat option is available for $8.79 , which included the salad bar and the hot vegetables on the buffet. The salad bar was sufficiently diverse and the veggie offerings were robust and Southern-tasty: okra and tomatoes, collard greens, green beans seasoned with bacon, cooked cabbage. They also make their mashed potatoes from scratch. It was a little cumbersome getting back on I-35 heading south, but that didn 't stop my husband from announcing That was worth the stop! We 'll be back.
FANTASTIC BUFFET! Dont believe the negative order off the menu remarks. We 're a family of 3 passing through from dallas to SA and saw this gem on maps. Southern kitchen ain 't no joke. Best catfish i had in years.
We eat here frequently. The food is good southern home cooking, they could just use a little more variety on the buffet.
