Have been here 4 times over the past 5 months. I have to say I find this place so frustrating. It has the right feel of a small modern Italian bistro/ restaurant, seating and lighting tends to work background music can be an issue especially upstairs where the young staff thinks it’s a bar rather than a restaurant and play the music so loud you can’t hear each other talk !!The food is in the main good although watch the pasta dishes for too much salt . Pizzas are consistently great and the starters are tasty too.Having moved up here from London, the issue I have with this place more than any other is it is expensive for what it is. A pizza for £16 to me is too much, some chorizo in honey as a starter for £10 is also too much. The service is ok and you really can’t blame the young probably still at college/uni/school) staff if they get the odd order wrong to me that is the managements fault. So annoyingly we have this potentially great little restaurant 15 mins walk from our house BUT the owners/management can’t get it right which probably explains why on a Friday night at 8.30 it was half empty.
Every time I've visited, the coffee has been amazing and the atmosphere is always great. The staff are lovely as well. I particularly enjoy the open plan kitchen, as it allows you to see everything being prepared.
This is hands down the best place around! The pasta is incredible, the pizza is amazing, and the starters are fantastic!
You won't find a better pizza than at Pavoni. It's hands down the best quality pizza we've ever tasted. Creating the perfect pizza requires patience, skill, and passion, and Pavoni has absolutely mastered it—100% excellent!
