Caprese Trattoria - Longmont

Caprese is a decent Italian place with food that ranges from pretty close to authentic to obviously made with a powdered sauce mix. The biggest detraction is the atmosphere. The booths have fabric worn more than a fast food restaurant, there were both house flies and fruit flies, the permanent menus were so worn for everyone at the table that a quarter of it was illegible, the specials menu was covered in grease, and the hostess was wearing sweat pants and a sweat shirt that said AC/DC. I was able to make reservations online via OpenTable very easy and we were seated right away when we arrived for Sunday dinner. Our waitress Maria explained the menu well and was very attentive and nice. We ordered the Tortellini and Chicken risotto to share between the 2 of us. The portions are larger so we couldn't finish the dishes and took some home. They were very tasty. Prices were ok for the larger portions. I would go back if I'm in the area.

The butternut ravioli used to be my go to. I feel like it's super watery now. And giving me parm from the green can...appropriate for the pizza but pasta should have grated or shaved IMO. Just a preference, I guess. Service great as usual. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
