Lic Family Deli - Long Island City

After our sandwich, we ordered coffee, with soy milk on the side. The coffee had a robust flavor, and a small (hot) cup is reasonably priced at $1.75. The soy milk is an extra 50 cents, and they serve it in a carafe, which is a nice touch considering other places might charge up to $1.00 for it! If soy milk isn't your preference (or if you have an allergy), they offer other non-dairy milk options as well. We also shared a cake with our coffees. It was just the right amount of sweetness and topped with tender, sweet blackberries, raspberries, and redcurrants, along with a layer of fresh cream and a delicious, fluffy crust. The café has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, making it ideal for work, writing, or simply grabbing a bite to eat. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; we ended up spending an extra hour chatting with Antonio and one of the regulars. I highly recommend this place for a generous cup of coffee that won’t break the bank, delightful treats (like croissants, muffins, and more), all within a comfortable European ambiance.
