Contribuiți la feedbackShiki is a hidden gem in a strip mall, offering wonderful and authentic Japanese cuisine. My daughter suggested sushi, so I looked for the closest option and found this place. I'm glad we did! The restaurant is small and opens at 4:30, with slightly outdated decor but friendly staff who greeted us with a smile. It's wise to make reservations, as we saw people being turned away at the door. We ordered some of our favorites - the spider roll, kamikaze salmon roll, green dragon roll, and California roll, as well as edamame, teriyaki beef, and a tempura mix with fresh shrimp, zucchini, beans, and sweet potato. For dessert, we had a souffle and Moochie. We were all impressed with the freshness and quality of the food. We'll definitely be back to try more items from their extensive menu.
I went to Shiki Japanese Restaurant tonight, which is located near the London Health Sciences Centre. As I looked through their menu, I was impressed by the variety of options they offer. They have sushi, hot pots, noodle dishes, rice dishes, soups, and salads. The highlight for me was the option to order Wagyu beef, either in steak form or in a hot pot. I decided to start with sushi and ordered a spider roll and a California roll. The spider roll had fried soft-shell crab, sesame, and lettuce, while the California roll had avocado, cucumber, crab sticks, masago, and sesame. For my main course, I went all out and ordered two portions of Wagyu beef hot pot. It was cooked right in front of me and came with mushrooms, lettuce, green onions, tofu, noodles, and of course the luxurious Wagyu beef. The ingredients were cooked in a delicious sweet and salty sauce, and you dip them in a whisked egg yolk. I also indulged in two slices of traditional Japanese cheesecake for dessert. The bill came out to $140, but my server Opry was so kind and attentive that it made the experience even better. Shiki Japanese Restaurant has an impressive menu and although it may be on the pricey side, the quality of the food definitely justifies the cost.
We went last night for New Year's 2024 and the place was extremely busy. Every table was taken and it seemed like most of the parties joining after us had reservations. Thankfully, we were able to get a seat without reservations after a short wait, even though the restaurant was full. The menu was amazing, the food was outstanding, and the service was still excellent despite the crowded conditions. I was surprised that I had never been here before, considering my love for sushi. It was fantastic, and I will definitely be returning again.
Excellent food. The fish tasted extremely fresh and everything was very well prepared. Would highly recommend the party platter for a full range of delicious options. The mochi was delicious and a perfect way to round out a filling, fresh, and meticulously designed menu!
We ate here 26th October 2023. It has wonderful decor, and background music. It was our first time to visit (will not be our last) and was graciously met with a very friendly and knowledgeable hostess and server. Our food from appetizers, main meals and dessert was superb. We had sushi, teriyaki beef and chicken, udon and the cheesecake. We look forward to going again.
