Contribuiți la feedbackI visited a charming restaurant on Wharncliffe. The woman working there was very friendly. The food was delicious and served hot. The jerk chicken was slightly sweet rather than spicy, and the meat was tender and easily fell off the bone. It was served with rice. Some menu items listed on the website were not available in the store. I would give it a 4-star rating based on the overall experience.
I ordered the spicy Jerk Chicken, while my partner chose the mild Chicken Curry Roti. We also got the Festival dessert. The Jerk Chicken was served on brown rice with three generous pieces coated in a flavorful jerk sauce. The meat was tender and delicious. The Chicken Curry Roti looked small in its container, but was surprisingly filling and tasty. Overall, the food was close to authentic Caribbean cuisine and we would consider returning in the future. We visited their new location on Huron Street, which used to be a Chinese Barbecue restaurant. The space was large and seemed underutilized, with the owners contemplating its future. The mini patties we started with were delicious, but the main dishes – Curried Chicken and Jerk Pork – had some issues. The Curried Chicken had too many small bones, while the Jerk Pork had large pieces of untrimmed fat. It is uncertain whether the restaurant will thrive in the Huron Street location, as the meals we had were just average and not enticing enough for a prompt return. The owners and cooks were friendly, but improvements may be needed to ensure success in this new space.
This restaurant is a hidden gem for Caribbean food lovers! I wish I had discovered Rose's sooner. The jerk chicken is spicy and juicy, a must-try. The freshly made dumplings and oxtail stew are also highly recommended. The delivery was prompt, and the $6 fee is worth it for the delicious food. The service was excellent, with a generous and kind woman assisting me over the phone. I now have a new favorite spot for Jamaican food in London, although my wallet may not be happy about it!
True Jamaican. After searching for quite a long time for some authentic Jamaican food I finally found this little gem. The ladies that work there are very friendly and treat you like family. The food is fantastic! I've spent some time in Jamaica, so I can verify the food's authenticity. Now, my hubby and I make it a point to go out of our way to eat here pretty much every time we are in the city.
Great food, but order ahead!. I thought this would be like one of several Caribbean restaurants I've eaten at before in Toronto or Ottawa so I just went in to get some food without calling ahead. However, the food is made fresh to order so you need to call ahead to place your order first. The wait was worth it though. We had veggie rotis and they were really delicious.
