El Dorado Mexican - London

I visited this restaurant with some colleagues after a day of work on a business trip. The food was enjoyable, and the portions were generous. One of my teammates is vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for her as well. The decor is typical of a neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

I absolutely love El Dorado! The food and service are consistently excellent. Every dish is delicious and leaves you wanting more. They are currently renovating some parts of the interior, but honestly, the food is so fantastic that you hardly even notice.

The food was truly excellent. The soup was outstanding, and the waiter’s recommendations were spot on. The service was terrific, and the overall experience felt very authentic. I would definitely return.

Fish tacos were a strip of unseasoned fish on a soggy tortilla, steak nachos were bland pieces of meat with what seemed like a white Velveeta sauce. No toppings, no seasoning. I ordered the fish taco dinner and didn't get rice or beans. We unexpectedly got 3 bags of unsalted chips with salsa that tasted like marinara. After a long day of driving this dinner was disappointing. Overpriced considering the lack of toppings, seasoning, and sides.

Most of these Mexican restaurants are all the same. Chips and salsa upon being seated, large menus with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and so on. That's what I expected from here even with the low Yelp rating. I figured it would be pretty average compared to other restaurants. It was unfortunately below average. I got two chicken tacos with rice and beans. The chicken tasted barely seasoned but at least it was cooked! The rice and beans were incredibly bland. Overall not very impressed with the cuisine. My coworker ordered beef enchiladas and got shrimp instead... he mentioned it and they were eager to fix the mistake and all was well. The employees didn't seem overly happy to be at work which always makes my dining experience a little worse- I don't like supporting places that can't treat employees well. I don't intend to go back to this restaurant because I prefer a little more flavor in my food.
