I don't know why I keep giving Zizzi a chance.............................. The locations are fine, and service is always pleasant. The menu reads well, but this must be the only garlic-free Italian food in the world! It is so bland. I keep smothering pizzas in chilli oil, but what's the point in ordering anything different, in that case? Even the pesto is tasteless. I reckon Zizzi is the chain that puts the Zzzzzzz in an eating experience.
I initially booked this as a lunch between meetings. When I found that the three people from my first meeting wanted to carry on chatting, it seemed ideal that they join me. Shame, then, that the restaurant, having confirmed the booking, was closed until 6pm that day. Thankfully, I know Twickenham very well, so was able to run to the next street and find a table for us.
Nice food it was cold when served, but that was put right quickly [unfortunately it was a calzone, so disappointing when I cut right through it, then had to send it back! . Service very good, as always in this branch. But, despite the fact that they were only 2 woman and a baby in the place, I couldn't concentrate to read. The baby was a little grizzly, but that's nothing. The two women bellowed at one another, shouted down phones, and occasionally shrieked. I ate that calzone in about 20mins, I think..........
Booking easy drink by the river followed by stroll to zizzi for a very pleasant supper good sharing platter and tasty pasta.
