Contribuiți la feedbackBrilliant party night in ukai on Saturday. we had a group of 25 people in the private lounge area. massive thanks to an alex for all his help and our brilliant waitress iris for looking for us so good. everyone loved the cocktails and eating was delicious. great music and fantastic people. can not recommend this place very much.
Eating was good, but service was terrible and terrible
The only positive thing I can say is that we eat was tasty, everything else was simply not great: if they want to have a conversation with someone, this is not the place. the people constantly leaned against our table, as the curse was full of them. I asked for water to be refilled twice, not disturbing. but the highlight was that we waited 45min for 3 garne for £16. After we were greeted by “They have the table for 1 1/2 h”, the time was almost up when this court arrived, 30min after the rest of the other food. no excuses or thanks for waiting. at the end I didn't even feel that I want to bother myself, just like any service personnel at this place. I won't come back.
The live band was right on the doorstep and the music was very loud. the restaurant was dark and had to use my phone burner to see the menu. we had to ask for menus and cutlery as there were only the chiffels on the table and the food we ordered could not be eaten with the chiffeln. I waited for over 15 minutes for my drink I had to remember. the waitress tried to put our main dishes on the table without deleting the stater plates when there was obviously no place. the main dishes were not hot and there were minimal meat on the lambskin. I didn't want to pay the service fee, but my friend didn't want to make a scene. I will not be back for gods and I would not recommend the restaurant.
We have been to UKAI many times previously and the food and presentation of food has been a wonderful experience and tasted absolutely delicious. Sadly, our experience this week was rated ‘Very Poor’. The service was extremely slow considering there were hardly any people eating in the restaurant area. When the food did eventually come to our table, the portion sizes had drastically reduced in size, certain dishes were not available to order from the menu and the usual standard of presentation of the food was not there. The price of the food had increased but the quantity and quality had totally diminished. I know we can blame it all on short staff, inflation, Brexit, a Wednesday night in January, but the fact is, if UKAI are struggling with all these factors, then close the restaurant if they cannot fulfil what they are showing on their website and Instagram. The food was nothing like previous visits and UKAI’s advertising and marketing campaigns are misrepresentation of what you are actually getting in the restaurant. I hope UKAI will address these comments as I have always loved eating there. Let’s hope this was a one off occasion.
