Awesome pub independently owned and run and you can tell these guys are all in and making it happen . We visited Sunday lunch the whole place was buzzing fully booked every table full , you can see these guys were all over it . Excellent range of beers enjoyed a Cyrus fruity ipa and the Sauvignon blanc by the glass was top notch . Food arrived promptly with a smile and a swagger from well drilled staff , we sat adjacent to the kitchen pass which was steaming but in control . Table by table they knocked was really good food out , certainly a notch above your standard pub fayre . Porcheta roast meal was succulent and delicious a little more gravy would have been welcomed , delicious with stuffing and apple sauce . Crispy beef salad was a big thumbs up on flavour but a little kinder on the beef perhaps ? . Prawn chilli linguini spot on and the burger went down well . Nailed it . Big ice cream fans and these guys had an excellent list on offer . We went for a pistacio , Maltese and honeycomb with a Chesky sticky toffee pudding on the side they really hit the spot . Excellent experience highly recommend.
Excellent day out with a few old friends, and the Roebuck just like previous (it’s been too long) did not disappoint. Staff are welcoming and friendly as ever as soon as you walk in the door and the food I haven’t stopped thinking about since the last bite. A special shout out to the Roast Pork this time. Wow! Also managed a brief chat with who I believe to be the boss a fellow cheese nut like myself and all round gent. All happy and full on my table. A great day had
Unfortunately, it appears that this once fantastic restaurant has dropped its standards in a startling way. It began badly with a wet table, long wait for order, food turned up cold oily gravy, undercooked carrots and potatoes, watery cabbage and flavourless beef. After everyone finishing it took 15 mins for the plates to be taken, another 10 mins to be asked if we’d like dessert. Ten minutes after that we had to grab a member of staff to actually order the desserts. Twenty minutes later after they hadn’t shown up we sought out a waiter to cancel the order and just get us the bill. It turned out they hadn’t even put them through. The whole evening was a washout, surrounded by a plethora of staff who quite literally couldn’t care less. With a bill of £200 I implore you to not waste your money here absolutely not worth it. This review is only being written as it was bad on so many fronts, if it was average I wouldn’t have bothered! Sad times, it used to be great!
Wonderful all round bar and dining experience, welcomed in by a cosy bar area with a mixture of high and low tables as well as plenty of standing space at the bar. The dining room is perfect environment for a meal with friends or couples with table service from the friendly staff to make sure you can just relax and enjoy the experience. We was shocked to see courtyard garden fully covered and heated with its own outdoor bar and pizza kitchen this has to be one of Chiswicks best kept secrets. The menu is a mixture of pub classics, fantastic nibbles and some great seasonal specials such as pigeon and venison, no menu on the high street can compete. A great array of quality lagers and craft beers from the bar along with cocktails and some high quality reasonably priced wines. Defiantly one to check out, a special place at the heart of the high street
