Contribuiți la feedbackThe food menu was new and only offered limited Sunday roast options. We each ordered one, but it was disappointing to learn that there was no children's menu available. One of the parents had to leave to find food for their son at a local chippy, which was unacceptable for a family pub. After waiting about 1 hour and 30 minutes, only 4 out of 10 orders arrived, and most of them were undercooked. Despite our concerns, no staff members approached us until we started asking questions and spoke to the manager. We were informed that they had outsourced their Sunday kitchen for the first time, but by 3pm, the chef had still not arrived and amateurs or alternative help were attempting to prepare the orders. Ultimately, we were told that no further food would be served. We decided to leave and were still asked to pay for our drinks. Overall, it was a completely unacceptable experience and we will not be returning to the Paxton in the future.
This restaurant has potential to be a great choice for non-vegetarians. The risotto balls were delicious, with a homemade tomato sauce and Italian herbs. However, the Sunday Pot Roast was disappointing with a small portion of unseasoned greens and mainly roasted potatoes. The nut roast also lacked nuts, only served as a garnish on a piece of bread. I would like to visit again on a different day to try more dishes, but for now, I would only recommend it to vegetarians if they have good company.
Really good menu, lots of choice, including vegetarian vegan options. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is good. Only downside is service for drinks is a little slow. Will be back for sure!
Decent food, nice drink selection. Good size pub, very lively and full of people. They had a lot of deals on, which meant even with mains and drinks it came to be really cheap for a night out.
Really nice experience, great staff, great food and the best local beer!
