The Lowback - London

My favorite in canary wharf on long night. buzzing atmosphere, great drinks, good eating and wonderful service. maggie took me for a tour to find the table I liked most and sofia saw us all the night.

I'm a frequent Hawksmoor client, so I thought I would try the lowback. I had a fantastic time! nice customer care, incredible dishes (on par with hawksmoor quality same kitchen,) but probably a little cheaper. the cauliflower and chicken starters were beautiful. the steaks were as usual perfect! easier difference with hawksmoor: the steaks all come with three-fold boiled chips, which obviously the best side ever! a Fab experience overall! go back!

No, where I expected. Maybe my expectations were too high after I saw her website.

We have previously visited 2 of the other Hawkesmore restaurants and had booked this bar for a meal for my fiancé 's birthday. I ordered the cheeseburger and he ordered the fillet steak. I couldn 't eat the burger. I really dislike mustard and can taste the smallest amount in anything and this burger was plastered in mustard but no mention of this on the menu. Not one member of staff asked if our meal was OK when we were eating and I even asked the see the menu again (to check whether mustard was mentioned) the member of staff I asked didn 't bring it. Luckily my other half offered to swap meals, so I had his steak. Also the chips were far far too salty (in both of our opinions and my other half definitely likes his salt). All in all quite a disappointing meal as neither of us ate what we had ordered or planned. The waiter did take the cost of the burger and chips off the bill but still disappointing when we were looking forward to a nice meal and paid good money. I feel like these are rocky errors which would have been easy to avoid- mentioning on the menu that the burger has mustard in it and adding too much salt. Unfortunately it has tainted our view of a previously nice restaurant.
