Contribuiți la feedbackNaughty piglets is a new addition to the brixton restaurant scene. with renting in the center of brixton, which are becoming increasingly unreliable for independent start-up companies, naughty piglets, like the shrub and shutter we recently checked, have gone for a secondary location, this time in brixton water lane, opposite the hootananny.
The restaurant is small, with about 30 covers, among them some sits at the bar; it was converted into a tasteful but rustic style with lots of pine, simple furniture and the necessary glow bulbs. they have a curt and daily changing menu (healthy inspired by sharratts stint in primeur) and many of the dishes are cooked with a wood charcoal grill. eating has European and Mediterranean roots, combined with a far eastern and particularly Japanese influence. the wine list is carefully selected in view of the background of aubry and concentrates on low-intervention wines with many natural and organic options. we enjoyed our gamay noir, although this...read more
I wanted to try this new local cuisine after reading big reviews and not a table on a few earlier attempts to get decided to get an impromptu walk on a Tuesday night could be more successful. fortunately, we caught a final table showing how popular the venue has become in a short time. a cozy room, our hostess was welcoming and we felt the ambiente very relaxed and yet professional. eating was on par and exceptionally good quality with fresh and seasonal ingredients and cooked to perfection. we will certainly return if we could only be sure of one table. we believe that this is becoming more and more difficult.
New openings in Brixton are fairly frequent, and there’s certainly no shortage of lovely places to eat. I have several favourites depending on the circumstances, but Naughty Piglets may have just leapt very close to the top of the list Opened a couple of weeks ago by Margaux Aubrey of Covent Garden’s Terroirs and Joe Sharratt, ex head chef of Trinity in Clapham, it already had a head start. They’ve got a long, skinny site opposite the Hootenanny on Brixton Water Lane with a small bar and kitchen at the front with a few tables, and a larger dining room at the back. So many people had recommended me in brixton “Naughty Piglets”. they said I would love it – many tasty little tellers and a great selection of weeping and beer. brixton is also quite close to where we live, so before a Friday night before a few weeks, tim and I decided to try. it is a very popular place and see how we left it quite lately, we could only get a table for 6.30 clock, but that was not really a problem. they can book to either sit in the bar or in the restaurant so that we have booked them.
