My Cottage Café - London

I had a great experience at My Cottage Cafe. The lunch options were great and everything tasted fresh. The service was friendly too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant staff blatantly lied to my husband and I just to refuse service to us, because we aren't white! I have given star because I can't give a negative one.To give a background, I used to pass by this restaurant many times and noticed it was always empty even though it looked nice. A couple of days ago, I understood exactly why! We walked in here at PM on a Saturday and the restaurant had no customers except a white elderly couple. Since this looks like a fairly casual place (and also because no staff was in sight) we proceeded inside and were just about to help ourselves to a table. Just as we were about to sit, this waiter walked out of the kitchen and very rudely asked what we were doing there "Hi, hello, what do you want Despite him being so rude, we asked if we could have table for two. Now this place has at least tables, each capable of seating at least people, and of these only one table was occupied with one elderly couple. Remember it was also only PM, far for peak hours. The waiter told us that ALL the tables were reserved. When I asked if all the tables were reserved, he said all of them were. When I asked him till what time, he said for all evening. Now this restaurant is open till in the night. I looked around and saw no reserved tags. He was clearly lying.We made our way out. If you believe every human should be respected irrespective of colour, class or creed, avoid this restaurant like the plague!
