I ordered the egg on sourdough with avocado, but when it was served to me, it only had one egg instead of the two it was supposed to have. The egg I did have was overcooked and hard. When I politely asked the server if I could have the egg changed, she responded rudely, telling me I was being difficult and suggesting I give the egg to a friend. When I mentioned that I could leave if the issue wasn't resolved, she stated that I would still have to pay for the meal. Overall, I was disappointed with the service and would not return to this restaurant.
Entering the restaurant felt like walking into a friend's mother's home, where we were taken care of with great attention and delicious food. It was a unique experience. We savored every bite of the delicious salmon dish, causing us to eat slowly. Having the entire room to ourselves on a Monday evening made the experience even more special. To top it off, we were surprised with a delightful gift of homemade chocolate cake. We left a generous tip as a token of our appreciation.
The food was delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! If you're in search of an affordable restaurant that serves generous portions, I highly recommend checking this place out.
Lovely setting, very understated. Service is way above most places. Come here to feel at home, relax and eat nice food. The food is prepared and warmed up but don't let that put you off.
Came here for dinner after an evening at the V&A and we were not disappointed. Raffi, the proprietor, looked after us wonderfully and the food and drink were all delicious. The stuffed vine leaves were the best we've ever tasted, the stuffed peppers also a highlight, and the Armenian sparkling wine was a really pleasant surprise. Jakobs appears to be busier at lunchtime at the moment, but our dinner experience was so good we'd return for either mealtime. It feels like you're eating at someone's home rather than in a restaurant, it has that warmth and welcome that's hard to achieve. We will return!
