The ambience was that of a loud café that is good for a causal lunch, but afternoon tea should be in a quiet and comfortable environment. It's definitely not. Pay an additional £10 to £20 and you can go to Fortnum Mason or The Ritz Hotel nearby and get luxury, comfort and unlimited sandwiches/pie (within the reasons.) Harvey Nichols was far from luxurious and not worthy to offer an afternoon tea.

We visit every few months and usually love this place, but think we caught them on a bad day. Food was just OK, but air con wasn’t on, took ages to be welcomed and seated and there were only 2 other groups of diners. I wanted to use some Harvey Nic rewards I have earned there but was told it was not possible, and the member of staff was annoyed that I thought I could.
I enjoyed my time at Harvey Nichols however the service was slow. We had one drink and we were waiting a long time for a waiter to come over and were just about to leave. I also don’t like the mandatory service charge just for drinks. They are expensive enough without having to pay 15% on top of the bill.
Not impressed with service or choice of food options. Won't return
