I was presented with a gluten intolerance menu but when explained coeliac told to scan a code to check for dishes which 'may contain' and half the options were removed. The server said the usual 'no guarantee' but provided reassurance dishes would be prepared separately. We ordered a few dishes from this to share. I went to the bathroom and noticed the open kitchen and bread being made in the middle of this. After seeing this I asked to discuss cross contamination with a manager. He informed me the reason they provide the warning is due to the open kitchen and chance of flour being in the air or spread across the kitchen by the many fans. He advised that any grill based dishes he would not recommend as this is close to where the bread is prepared and highest risk for contamination..he therefore recommended a curry as prepared at opposite end of kitchen. This meant our order arrived and was sent back for an alternative. They were very polite and courteous about this but it didn't feel the seriousness was recognised and added stress to what I had hoped would be a stress free dining given recent reviews.
Had the chicken tikka and the black daal. Very good. Portions were small. Get there early- the wait is long and reservations very limited. Enjoyed it a lot!
One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve eaten at anywhere. Extensive menu of GF dishes (I had the Chicken Ruby, the Chili Butter Bhutta, and the Kachumber, and finished with a scoop of Kashmiri chilli ice cream). Everyone in my group (non GF) loved it too
Read the amazing reviews and thought this restaurant would be safe. Got sick.
Got glutened here. They seemed knowledgeable, but somehow it still happened.
