La Piñata Bakery - Logan County

This review apply to the conchas only as this is the only bread I ate since it's my favorite type. These conchas are the real deal! I usually have a hard time finding bakeries that prepare both the bread and the sweet topping as it should be. It reminds me of bread I ate in México growing up. You now have a frequent customer, please don't ever change the recipe.

I love this place. The employees are friendly and helpful and always give samples of Chocolate. Just wish they sold white chocolate.

I recommend this bakery for its amazing foods, super helpful and friendly workers and staff, and easy to use website. Despite being a 30 minute drive without traffic for me, they are my go to bakery for birthday cakes and events. Great conchas but pricier than other just-as-great conchas you can get in Chicago. I guess that’s the price of the suburbs. Don’t get any drinks here — they’re not great and not the real deal. Their cafe de olla is not good, which is a shame because it’s definitely an amazing Mexican drink when done right. Extremely delicious pastries, coffee, cakes, etc. Discovered this little gem by luck. Not only is the food great, but so is the service.
