Edelweiss - Logan County

We went to the Chicago Travel and Leisure show on Jan 14th. After the program we looked for a nice place to eat. I found the restaurant online and used Open Table for a reservation. The restaurant is great. Not too far from 294 tollway. First class service and great food. We had the sausage sampler, potato pancakes and wienerschnitzel. First off the food is extremely sweet so much so that it was very off putting.I ordered the sampler platter at the cost of $30. I have to say huge disappointment the meat was way over cooked and all the gravy in the world could not save it. By no means is it worth $30. However the staff was great the beer was cold. I’m just going to take a hard pass on eating there again.

Great place! I highly recommend their pretzel appetizer. The restaurant is a whole experience. The people are so sweet there, too. Love this place! You can host events here, too.

Very authentic. Can say with confidence as I have been to Germany.

The restaurant is decorated for the holiday with a festive tone, several Christmas trees throughout, white lights adorn the ceilings. The bar is good size serving many types of German beer as well as wine. If you are collector of German steins they are scattered between rooms.
