This was the most expensive and absolutely the worst meal we encountered on our trip to Italy to visit la mamma, who lives in the Chianti region. I had pasta with a gray tail of tired shellfish that was so past its prime that I couldn't eat it, and the few bites I did have I feared would make me sick (thankfully that didn't happen although my stomach was grumbling in the middle of the night). My husband's tuna was dry, overcooked and akin to eating a piece of dried tofu, although tofu would likely have been superior. We have kicked ourselves for even giving it a chance since it smelled fishy (they have a fish market) upon entry. I cannot imagine that the positive reviews are not total astroturfing. There were only three other people there and they appeared to be stranieri. On the bright side, the server was a nice woman and the wine and bread was above average; as long as the kitchen staff has nothing to do with the preparation, you're safe! Amazingly, this was the ONLY bad meal we had in Italy.
What a find. Strayed one night at hotel universal and stumbled across this marvellous restaurant. Fish market during the day classy restaurant at night. Selected our fish from the counter and the chef did the rest. Delicious. Top notch food and beautifully delivered by an attentive waiter. Well done.
