Golden Pond Restaurant - Liverpool

Getting right to the point, the food was sub par. The prices were what you'd normally see at a Chinese food restaurant but the serving sizes were pathetic for the price. They still use the small covered metal dishes to serve the food in, which doesn't hold very much. We ordered beef and broccoli and ginger chicken- both dishes were indiscernible from each other to look at. There was no color and the sauce was tasteless. The only difference we could tell was there was pineapple in the ginger beef and slightly more spice. We also tried the Cantonese chow mein special, which consisted of undercooked noodles like the type from a Mr.Noodle packet and the same gooey tasteless sauce found on the ginger beef and beef and broccoli. We also had the sweet and sour chicken balls which were very good. If you've had Chinese food in Halifax or anywhere else you will most likely be disappointed here with the taste, size and price for what you get. Our waitresses were amazing, friendly helpful and funny. We left them a nice tip but only because of their service.

This is the best Chinese food on the south shore. Fresh, hot, flavourful. So good! He service is great too.

We had take out from here and have to say was quite disappointed. The chow mein had no taste at all but just that of boiled bean shoots. The service was good however but quite pricey for not great food. I don't think I would use again sorry!

The food here was very good. The menu has a good variety of items and the prices are about the same as other Chinese food restaurants. The waitress was awesome and took very good care of us including recommending some great dishes. We will definitely eat here again.

I have not visited many times, but have always been pleased with service, food, and value. It isn't the coziest place, but the food makes up for that.
