Purple Olive Lounge - Liverpool

Amazing food, really good value. Portion sizes were quite big and food was served hot and with hot plates which is always a bonus. Nicely decorated inside and staff were friendly. Bonus that this restaurant also offers a take away service.

We have been past this place numerous times, and also very loyal to our usual Indian but we thought we'd give it a go. We were not dissapointed. Firstly service was friendly and prompt. Then the food came and it was outstanding. It was all piping hot and so flavourful. The menu is really generous and there is so much choice. Price wise I was quite surprised as I thought it would be way more expensive. Glad we went and we will visit again.

We have eaten here several times, service and food have always been great. The Special; Rice IS the best. However I have given 3 stars for service as we ordered take away food instore, as phone was not being answered. We sat and waited almost an hour, while other 'phone orders came and went. They did keep apologising for the delay but did nothing to improve the wait. Don 't think we will be using the takeaway service again.

Ordered takeaway at the counter and took a seat while we waited ordered pint and a large red wine. After half an hour we ordered another pint and a large red wine. Asked waiters several times what hafmd happened to our £35 ordered and each time we're told it would be five minutes. We were not warned how long the waiting time was when we ordered and after waiting 80 minutes we had to leave and get a Chinese takeaway from across the road. We struggled to get out of the door through the number of families/People waiting to collect takeaways. Never had a problem before, just owners biting off more than they can chew.

I went to a restaurant on Thursday, December 28th to meet my family for a meal and had the worst experience ever. The service was poor, the food was subpar, and there were no apologies given for the terrible experience. We arrived at 5:30 for our reservation but had to wait for a menu for a while. It took even longer for our order to be taken. We waited over half an hour for our starters to arrive, then waited ages for our plates to be cleared. It wasn't until 7:55 that our main courses finally arrived, which was unacceptable considering we had been there since 5:30. It seemed like they were more focused on fulfilling takeaway orders rather than serving the customers in the restaurant. The service was absolutely shocking, especially for a place that used to have good service. Some of our meals even arrived cold. We will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
