Every dish we received was cold, and despite our complaints after each course, the next one was no better. The staff claimed it was only our table experiencing the issue and only charged us for the drinks. I found even that to be unsatisfactory. They should have comped the entire meal. Our special day was completely ruined by the poor quality of the food and mismanagement. We will not be returning.
Not a bad place this but a little bit off the beaten track so you have to drive which has it's obvious down-sides. The pub itself used to be a residential property that was owned by some middle eastern people but they left to go home during the first Gulf War leaving the property derelict for many years. Its a lovely looking building now and very friendly indeed. Nice and warm in the winter due to its open fire and there's plenty of room outside in the garden in the summer. Food is good pub grub, nothing out of the ordinary but does the job. Could do with a few Middle Eastern dishes to link up with the pub's history in my opinion.
This restaurant is one of the worst places I have ever visited. The staff seemed disinterested, the food was cold, and the roast potatoes were the worst I have ever tasted. I have been twice and both experiences were equally disappointing. This place is not for us. Ugh.
Cocktails were terrible. Wine arrived in glasses that had lipstick on them. They charged an extra £3 for probably the smallest portion of dauphinoise potatoes (maybe 2 mouthfuls? I've ever seen, that I had requested instead of the chips and the deep fried onion fritter that was the usual accompaniment to what turned out to be a miniscule rump steak. The owners patently don't give a s**t about the food nor the service. It's also next to a noisy main road so eating outside ain't peaceful. DON'T BOTHER. Head to The George in Burpham or The Gravy Boat in Little Hampton instead both stunning.
This place is big and serves food until 9pm I believe. The parking is good with a very large private car park and there is plenty of seating outdoors too for the fine weather. Good for families, like ours, and they do provide high chairs for babies (which is a nice touch for a pub! and the service is fast, a little too fast for the food to be freshly cooked, so a compromise methinks. My Sunday roast (veggie was filling if anything. but my other half was totally pleased with her Fish Pie. Average fare without any gastro touches more Aunt Bessie than Fat Duck.
