Country House - Lisle

I am absolutely in love with the chicken cashew salad with poppy seed dressing! This is a fantastic spot to grab a burger. You should definitely check it out and appreciate it as much as I do. They offer daily specials on food and drinks, and on Sundays, they have amazing fried chicken with a choice of sides that you won’t want to miss.

I do think the steak frites could use a little more cooking time, especially for delivery. I also ordered an item called Duck Tenders, which were strips of baked and fried duck meat, and they were absolutely incredible. Duck can be tricky to prepare, but this was fantastic. I made a mistake by getting them with wing sauce—while they were good, they really deserve a high-quality brown sauce or at least A1 or the British Parliament sauce. On a side note, I've found that raspberry sauce pairs beautifully with duck dishes!

I absolutely love their burgers! Whenever I go for dinner, I make it a point to explore the entire menu, but I always end up ordering the Bisonburger topped with blue cheese and bacon. While I’ve enjoyed other delicious options on the menu, I keep coming back to the Bisonburger. The beer selection may be limited, but it offers a nice variety. And don’t forget, Mondays are great because you can get half-priced wine bottles. This place is a popular spot in the neighborhood!

I was with a friend of mine last week. I had the Elk Burger, it was very good I was impressed. The staff was friendly. Bringing some friends back... I tried the Bison Burger this time. The staff was great. I also had the French onion soup. So good. My only complaint I have is that I was so full that I had no room for dessert. Next time, I have to try some original desserts. So I'll be back...I forgot to mention that I love the place from inside. Very rustic.

This place reminds me of the cafe's that used to be around with their hearty portions and home cooked feeling. I love their soups and their warm and welcoming environment. Most places you eat now feel like a commercial environment but this place makes you feel as if they truly care about each and every customer. The bathrooms are also very clean which is usually a great indicator of what the kitchen is like.
