Taberna Da Saudade Bairro Alto - Lisboa

Looking at the menu all looks ok, but looking at the bill is a differentiaali thing! We paid 20€ for an average Bottle of wine worth 13€. Food was 2/5 for the price of 8€ and 8,95€ for veg and meet dishes. So pay attention, and probably skip this place.

We found this place to be very friendly and great value. The menu is varied and extensive and the fixed price 5 tapas was especialky good. Add to this decent sangria and other drinks and it made for a pleasant couple of hours.

There’s really nothing redeeming about this restaurant, and I’d give it one star, but I feel bad for the overworked and well-meaning waitress who was frantically running around trying and not succeeding to keep up with the orders. We waited 40 minutes before we got our olives. To call the food mediocre is to make it a compliment. The room looks kind of quaint (which is what attracted us), but even that depends on what table you get. We got a 20-Euro bill instead of 5 for change by mistake, went to return it, and instead of a thank-you were talked to as if it was our fault. What WAS our fault, indeed, is that we didn’t read reviews before going in.
