We found a magazine article written by a chef who recommended Churrasqueria as a good place to sample typical Lisbon style grilled chicken with piri piri sauce. We had flown in quite late the night before and spent the day walking through the city, and were hoping to find a good, simple meal. The restaurant features a rotisserie where most of the food is cooked. The chicken had a crisp skin and was tender and juicy inside. I had roast pork tenderloin, which was perhaps not as tender as I had hoped but had great flavor. The English of the staff was limited, but they tried hard to understand us and help us understand them. All in all, a simple, affordable and delicious meal.
I had been looking for the Portuguese dish called Arrozo Pato (rice duck) for several weeks. My timing was off or they were out of it. This was the Saturday special and a regular part of the menu. 7.5 euro for the plate. A half litre of wine was 2.5 or so. There was about a half a duck in this dish. really, they cook the duck, shred it, cover it with cooked rice and then bake it. Served up with a few slices of meat and a think orange slice on top. delicious. I thought the language was no problem. Patience and a friendly smile. Once you try saying Arroz Pato they will know what you are after and they will say 'duck? ' wayne inLISboa
From a red wine with no brand to a home test made meal, is a good local experience. Well served rice with octopus dish.
You need Google Translator if You're not fluent in Portugese. No menu in English nor German. But if You manage to order Your meals after several minutes a real, portugese cuisine will arrive on Your table. Very good and cheap fishes.
Local food, agreeable prices, native atmosphere. Don 't expect to be understood in English. I often ate my lunch here during a short business stay in July 2015. Try any of the 'dishes of the day ', especially the grilled ones. And also: they 've got free WiFi.
