American Music Burguer - Lisboa

Since we were in lissabon in the center of the coronavirus situation, many of the restaurants had begun to close, but fortunately we stumbled very close to our hotel. the menu had a good choice with numerous fishing options along with the...more American selection, but we both plucked for the grilled sirloin and chips. While this was cooking, we were presented by the friendly helpful staff with some free croquettes and I tried what proved to be a very pleasant local red wine. the steaks were plentiful and beautifully cooked something I found not to be as common as they would think of many places around the world. a rareness was the reaction when we asked for senf, certainly not in portugal! overall, good value for money and somewhere where I returned when I visited Iissabon, we have actually tried to go back later in the week, just to find how many businesses they had closed due to the situation.

The first is the name of the restaurant....the signage says avenida grill from the moment in which they go to the restaurant, they are made to feel welcome. menus are printed in several languages and the corresponding menu is given to them by very pleasant employees....Our waiter guides us through the menu and described, in detail, every dish and even offered to show us when we use it from the menu, the fish they use before cooking. we chose our meals and drinks and left us for a relaxing meal. another waiter came by, offered us traditional Portuguese starters and asked if we wanted something. they do not have to accept, but they pay for what they accept. the most important courses came, as described by the waiter and were very tasty and fill. we also decided to have dessert, and again, our waiter described each court. he was very convincing in his proposal of the preferred Portuguese dessert, even gave us a small rehearsal to try first. it turned out to be one of the best desserts we had. the night was rounded with coffee. the service was super, the waiters couldn't do enough....they conversed with their customers on a polite and sometimes joviale wise. we had to ask them to change the music played in the restaurant, although Christmas songs in the fairy are a bit from Putting

Just round the corner from our hotel. The young and friendly staff who served us were brilliant. Easy to get on with and friendly....service was great and food was great. There were a group of young teen agers sitting next to us for a birthday...party....parents sat at a distance away...but the younsters had a great time, behaved superbly and were a credit to their families. They even knew the words of Depeche Mode and all sung the chorus lines!! Full marks to the party group, their parents and the venue. Thankyou Lisbon

We chose this place in a hurry as it was raining and it looked quite full. I had a lovely vegetarian burger with sweet potato fries but my husband ordered a steak which was served almost cold and sent back to the kitchen. The second...steak was of poor quality but the waiter did not hesitate to exclude it from the bill despite the fact that my husband ate it. Can't fault the service recovery but it put us off a return visit.
