Restaurant Club Corsicana

Like the university cafeteria I have been going to this restaurant for 6 years, give and take. We spend our summer holidays in a nearby camping ground and for practical reasons and for lack of an alternative we have dinner here 4-5 times each year. The location is quite nice, with a splendid view, the waiters are mostly from Germany, so are the owners, so the language part, which is not seldom a challenge in Corsica, is kind of comfortable for our Germany speaking family. It is clean and the service is fast. So far so good, yet the food is quite subpar. The menu remains the same since pretty much forever, seldom anything new on it. Worse, it is clean-cut but unlovingly cooked: the vegetables on the side are without exception overcooked, whatever fish you take, it tastes like the sauce that it comes with. Much like the university cafeteria, the same kind of disappointing consistency, but with a better view of the Mediterranean. What brings me to write this is the awful treatment we were subjected to in our last visit and the really awful hamburger we were served. Having asked for a table in a front row, as we were spending the last day in Corsica, we received a terse, impolite reply “I can prepare the table if I have the time” – “Well, do you?” “No!” . Following that the hamburger: with a pretentious, thick patty with a considerable non-meat content, covered with an aggressive curry, paprika, onion sauce, wedged in between buns that disintegrated after two bites. It was the worst “expensive-burger” I have had in my life. The French fries were OK, though. I don’t know if I will manage to avoid going there again it is practical and we are a democratic family, after all , but I will sure seek alternatives to it.

Update 2022 the restaurant is for sale now because of the poor health of the owners small prices, delicious cuisine, fast service. I recommend trying the fish soup. It's very good. Because of the problem, you have to reserve a place in advance, because there are no seats. My taste is the best restaurant in the area. This restaurant was our favorite in our two weeks holiday in corsica!!!we went several times and all our dinners were by far the one better than the previous!!!!lovely food and very very reasonable prize. i will give you an example:at our last evening we invited three very nice friends we met at corsica and the three of us(family of three)to dine with us to this restaurant as we wanted to please them and us for us was by far the best .we had three champagne aperitifs and 5 other aperitifs.we ordered two salads and two other starters,for main i had the sole meunier(a plate that i ordered all the 5 times we went to this restaurant and was the best in our one month holidays in france,not only in corsica).one lady took also fish grilled,another lady took lamp.the three men took pasta bolognese.for desert we took for six people a taste from all the desserts of the menu!!!!!we were so full up we could not finish our desserts.for all the above we payed less than 180e!!!!the always friendly service brought us warm clean soft blankets as it had a breeze!!!!it was a unique night and with live music and all the people around us were singing the songs the band was playing and were escorting the singer!!!!!!!!all the previous times we went as we are greeks and we ordered a lot and we tried the steak filet (which was very nice cooked always and the meat was so good as my sole)we would pay 80-90e and always ordered the very best in the menu!!!!!really we found it so beautiful...so generous and so friendly and polite!!!!!everything was perfect!!!!!

All right, I recommend. Good reception and quality products. It comes a noon, very quiet and very pleasant.
