Strandhaus - Lindau

We were visiting Lake Constance (Bodensee) for only a few short days, and we had actually booked Seefruehstuck "lake breakfast with the Strandhaus restaurant several months prior to arrival. We met Klaus, the chef/owner of the Standhaus restaurant (and also the captain of the boat),...as well as the Jasmin, the sommelier (who prepared the breakfast). We really enjoyed their company and the food on the boat, so we decided to check out their restaurant the next day, and I'm so glad we did! We contacted them for a reservation, which thankfully there was an opening available, several hours prior to dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, they had specially decorated a table for us with a lake theme and pictures from our lake trip with them, which was such a nice touch! We started with apertifs, which were delicious. I had the pasta and my boyfriend had the ribs, and we were both very impressed with the taste and quality of the food. We also had a bottle of local red wine as recommended by Jasmin that was also very good. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, but I would recommend calling days prior for a reservation, they seemed very busy!

Not just great barbecue, but served with humor and expertise...managed to feed and satisfy two large groups of at the same time..everybody was happy. Good wine list.

We ate here on our last night staying on the campsite on whose grounds this restaurant sits. However it is entirely independent. As with other reviews this was also one of our nicest meals on our German holiday. This restaurant specialises in BBQ with a...number of sophisticated smokers and types of BBQs. They also have a full menu of other items including burgers steaks and Pasta . We had a soup of the day a lovely creamy horseradish soup, I had the ribs with a southern US style whiskey sauce and my wife the schnitzel. Service was great again the best on our trip with an attentive waitress for whom nothing was too much trouble, a side of slaw for my ribs not on the menu. Good local range of beers and wine.

Went there for a special BBQ Event creol BBQ-Eve inside the restaurant a very nice and cosy atmosphere, friendly people and before starting the BBQ buffet the owner and chef (kitchen) explained about the BBQ Smoker preparation the various kind of foods they will serve...this evening. It was a very very fine and excellent food! Please go on that way and keep your high standard and qualtity

This restaurant specializes in smoked foods, aspiring to American barbecue standards. I liked the food and loved the various salads on the buffet, with many German specialties. Chef introduced himself and waxed enthusiastically about his expertise. To my taste it was good barbecue but not...wonderful. The homemade barbecue sauce would not succeed in the USA South. The service was wonderful. The bill was sporty. .Parking was challenging had to park several blocks away and walk back.
