The Swan Guest House - Lincoln

Just had 2 night's at the swan Lincoln my granddaughter is at the university this is right in the middle of the university, the room was the family room really good lovely bathroom clean and good size, bedroom had 1 king size bed and 1 double bed also really comfortable and clean could not fault it staff were very friendly and helpful great value.

Me and my partner frequent this place however we went in for food, I was served a Greasy plate of cheese Dry bacon and Ready to eat chicken from a Store with a Burnt chicken goujon my partner ordered a PLAIN chicken burger to receive a Bun with 2 Burnt chicken goujon so she took it back and was told by the Waitress the chicken was dry because she had no sauce on it this was sent to the chef who also agreed this chicken was fine even thought it was burnt and overdone, admittedly I lost my cool with them and was maybe a little rude back, even then I was told you had your refund so what else do you want

We occasionally go in The Swan for a bite to eat or a drink. The food and drinks are always superb and the majority of the staff are always warm and welcoming. However, the past couple of times we have been in we have been served by certain members of staff who have been extremely rude and unfriendly which has dampened our experiences at The Swan. We casually asked for an addition to one of our meals from which a member of staff replied saying that they were tired and might forget to ask. We thought this was rude and unfair because as a customer you expect to staff to deal with your requests. In addition, when this order was prepared and delivered, the same member of staff told us to never order it again. As this wasn't said jokily or light heartedly, we thought this was extremely rude and unprofessional. We really enjoy it here because it is a brilliant student venue and the majority of the staff are very warm and friendly, however sometimes some members do let it down slightly.

Certain aspects of the service were poor I ordered coffee but was not told were the sugar etc was. cutlery and sauces were brought after the meal and the table was dirty.. It was not very busy.. Food was OK, service quick.

As we did not live on a walkable distance from town and were going the to spend a fun evening in Lincoln, we opted for BNB Guesthouse the Swan.In the middle of the University Campus, along Brayford Pool. One gets what he/she needs. We booked the 3 beds room. In reality a very comfortable double bed and an a sofa bed, a large TV with several UK-channels, an ironing board, an open wardrobe. The bathroom/toilet is shared, as well the kitchen. It is quiet and very clean (my compliments). The key can be found in a locked (numbers) box. The codes for the main entrance and the key-box are informed on forehand, as no personnel is present. The entrance door, of the guesthouse, can be indicated a bit clearer, but I was very happy with this opportunity and the quality of the room. A high value for money. Additional Information about my comment; We have not visited the Swan restaurant, so my responses on the questions about the restaurant are neutral.
