It's a shame that Tommy's used to be known for their great chips, but not anymore. I won't be returning and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
If they are willing to pay £10.70 for a fish sauce where the fish is burned to places. fill their boots. £3.90 for a large bag £3,50 for a standard to small bag of chips. the cost for a family of 5 are £35-45 before they begin to buy. the most expensive softdrinks in the northwest.
On our way to play some golf, we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Both my 9-year-old and I ordered the cod. The fish was cooked perfectly, the batter was delicious, the chips were nice, and the portion size was very generous. I would have preferred a bit more salt and vinegar, but for the sake of my health, it was probably a good thing I didn't add more. The price was reasonable, coming to £20 for 2 cod dishes and 2 drinks, which is pretty standard.
This chippy was one of the worst I have ever been to. The fish was extremely greasy and the sausages were ruined. The portions were small and overall I was very disappointed. I will not be returning and would not recommend it to others.
Absolutely terrible chips. Tasted like they had been through the frier at least 4/5 times. Bag full of ends a s chips were chewy and greasy. This used to be a lovely place to get chips but it’s gone down hill drastically Next time will...go to Gareth’s across the road
