Cicchetteria, Italian - Limassol

Set in what I believe is a restored house. Efficient and friendly staff who concentrate on providing excellent service without being imposing. A limited menu which I found refreshing meaning the chefs can concentrate on paying attention to cooking great tasting food. Very reasonably priced menu. I will definitely be returning.

I can be pretty picky when it comes to Italian having worked in Italian dining for many years. I thought the selection on the menu was ok, but not very exciting. Pretty standard throughout. Hoped for something a bit more adventurous. The setting is stunning. The building is beautiful. It was a bit cold.. but I just put that down to the weather. The service was fine. The main guy waiting on us was decent, witty, competent. However, we made it clear we would need individual bills from the start. They said that was fine, then didn't do it, so paying was an absurdly drawn out process.. from asking for the bill to the last person paying was easily over half an hour, we told our friends to just leave instead of waiting as it was taking so long. The food was acceptable. I opted for a simple margherita thinking that such a classic is usually a good barometer, it came with no basil. I don't give a three star too often but this was unfortunately one such occasion that justifies it.
