Had the most beautiful lunch with delicious seafood, in a small local market. When we were there, we were the only turns. The restaurant was full in no time - certainly because of the great food!
Do yourself a favor and don’t look anymore for the PERFECT ceviche joint in Lima. You absolutely HAVE to try this place out. We heard about this place through a local and we certainly would never have found out about it other wise. Try the guardial Emperial. I promise you it will not disappoint. In fact your taste buds are going to be doing all sorts of acrobatics in your mouth. The place is in a small little market but it’s full of personality and packed with locals. (You know that’s a good sign! The beer is cold, the fish is fresh, and the atmosphere makes you wanting to come back for more. In fact we did! 3 days in a row. STOP reading and get there NOW!
I come to Peru often, and I always look forward to my brief stop-over in Lima because it means I get to have lunch at Canta Ranita! My favorites are the Ceviche Mixto and the Arroz con Mariscos, though I've never had a bad meal here. The market atmosphere is fun (although, as a gringa, I feel like the passing live musicians always harass me for money a little more than the locals—but I've come to expect that anywhere). I'll be returning again on my way out of the country next week, and I'm already counting down the days!
My lunch in Lima. freshest, best tasting Ceviche and what value. S/25 for the fulfillment of fresh fish. good from the beaten track, a alley with some other food stands and one-person shops (like Schneider). You are not lost, go on until you find it. same owner as Canta Rana, so you should say something. Service is super beautiful, even for us gringos lol. highly recommended!!!
