The Garden State Grill - Lillington

Really great staff, food could use a little more seasoning but still tasty. The gravy slaps, we had the boardwalk fries as an appetizer, which I nicknamed redneck poutine haha. We followed it up by getting the pot roast and Jersey burger. Both of which were delicious, but could use a little more seasoning to make it 5 star taste. For dessert we got the Reese's cheesecake which was amazing and the best part of the meals we got. It was a seasonal item and it was already down to 5 pieces left when we got there. It's nice and quiet when we were there and the staff really enjoyed talking to us. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Northerners at heart... LOOK NO FURTHER! Finally after moving from New York a few years ago we have found a restaurant that reminds us of home. It's hard to explain everything but the food was great, the atmosphere was great, they have some staple menu items that I haven't seen anywhere else since we moved like Boardwalk/ Disco fries and the black and blue burger I had was amazing! I also previously had their Reuben and it was also great quality! Everything was great and we had my 3 daughters with us who had quality kids meals and loved it there also! We are so happy we found this little piece of New Jersey in North Carolina Kid-friendliness: They had hefty kids meals which lasted my kids two lunches. No substitutions on daily special. I wanted the risotto and broccoli with chicken as I had the salmon (todays special). That’s ok. They brought in breaded pickles for my wife as she is allergic to seafood and the breading is fried in same oil as their seafood. We had chicken breast and chicken pared. Both very good! Food is good not great pretty much average for most restaurants in Lillington. Tried to customize the Jersey burger twice in less than a week and it was completely wrong both times.
