La part des Anges - Lille

I went to this place years ago, and I was impressed by the wine carte..one could find excellent wine for a fair price, and eventually buy it on the spot.Unfortunately, that time is gone, we had to try 3 times before getting the wine we had chosen, and as white wine it came at room temperature..The food was correct, nothing spectacular, but the service was very good.Prices were fair, so all in all, we just lost an occasion to drink good wine while in Lille.

A really great place with super cozy environment, a good selection of a la carte and fixed menus. Awesome wine list, with all the "big" ones, but also several good choices at affordable price levels. The overall good quality is high level, not Michelin, but in a good day they could reach a single star. They should have had top character, and this for the super service from the lady that served our table, but all the Entrecôte that was served never was close to medium rare, but they did taste good anyway. A great place to return to.

It was my third time visiting 'La Part des Anges' on Rue de la Monnaie with friends and colleagues (we all live and work in Lille). It was a busy Thursday night so we took a seat at the bar. As we were speaking in English, the staff must have assumed that we did not understand French as they proceeded to talk about us (quite rudely and right in front of us) and what they assumed we were going to order from the menu, apparently beer and not wine, as we are ‘Anglais' (I am not English, not that it should matter). We swiftly decided to leave, without having ordered anything. Unimpressive, and not a place for foreign language speakers apparently.

We had no idea because the menu was french, but it was a nice surprise. The beef was cooked to perfection. Pork was nicely done. Vegetables was a bit poor. Desert was fantastic. Especially the biscuit under the chocolate cream. There was an astonishing selection of wine. I'm sure they were specialists. Bottle wasn't matching the discription in the wine menu, but it was absolutely delicious. Service was fine, although a smile here and then wouldn' t hurt. Easy going atmosphere and cosy environment. All in all a good experience.

Good food, excelent wines You can have first a glass of wine, before you go to table, very busy in late evening
