Contribuiți la feedbackReally good bangladeshi food. Home cooking flavour. The shutki bhorta is EXCELLENT, highly recommend. The daal is also super good. Loved their chaa, authentic roadside flavour. Will definitely be going back.
Great customer service and food taste so good.Must try their chicken roast it's amazing.
My visit to the Bengali restaurant in Montreal, Canada left much to be desired. The service was notably poor, failing to meet even basic expectations. Additionally, the food quality fell short of what one would anticipate from a restaurant claiming to specialize in Bengali cuisine. To compound the disappointment, a 15% service charge was applied, which seemed unjustified given the subpar service received. Overall, my visit to Appayan left me unsatisfied and unlikely to consider a return in the future.
If you're a fan of South Asian cuisine, a foodie, or just someone looking for flavorful food, I wholly recommend Appayon. I initially had some reservations before visiting as the reviews on Google didn't look so great; I'm so glad I didn't let those review deter me from coming!! Right off the bat, I should mention that this restaurant was crowded with both locals and non-Bangladeshis on a Sunday at 4pm; that should tell you something : Pros: Uniquely Bangladeshi dishes on offer; these are not so common in Montreal Ample seating room Every dish ordered was superb; I would recommend trying the beef tehari pilaf, the mughlai paratha snack, and if you can tolerate the spice level, the chicken or beef naga preparations. Food arrived promptly and all menu items were available Cons: Prices are relatively high for the quantity. However, I'm willing to forgo this as the quality put into every dish is superb. As mentioned earlier, Bangladeshi restaurants are a rarity in Montreal. Service was fine but not overtly friendly; Tied to this, there was a comment in the menu that there's a mandatory 15% service charge; I don't recall if this was enforced at the time of payment. Surprising lack of bread options; many of the dishes would go great with a naan or roti, IMHO Highly recommended; I will definitely revisit!
I wanted my Quebequer friend to taste the Bengali Fuchka and i was extremely disappointed with the quality. The food was neither fresh nor crispy. Even the samosas were really bad. It doesn 't even represent our food culture!
