The Olde Peculiar - Lichfield

The restaurant has a wonderful sense of community and the staff is always welcoming. The food selection is great too! We also stayed at the bed and breakfast and had a fantastic experience. The room was lovely, with comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast. We have already booked our next visit!

After visiting the memorial arboretum lightshow, we decided to have a meal at this restaurant. We ordered two pie meals and waited for over an hour, only for the waitress to mistakenly bring them to the next table of five. Despite pointing out the error, the remaining three guests at that table still did not receive their meals. It was clear the restaurant had mixed up our orders. When I inquired about our food, it was evident from their expressions that mistakes had been made. The waitress eventually realized the error and apologized, blaming the busy nature of the restaurant. However, this was not a valid excuse. We asked for a refund and will not be returning due to the incompetence of the staff.

After reading good reviews, I decided to make a reservation for two at this restaurant. We drove 10 miles to get there and upon arrival, we found the pub to be quite empty. Despite standing at the bar, none of the staff acknowledged our presence. Eventually, we were directed to our table but waited for 15 more minutes without anyone attending to us. Feeling neglected, we decided to book a table at the Shoal Hill Tavern instead. The customer service and food at Shoal Hill Tavern were fantastic and I would highly recommend it.

Highly recommend staying and eating here. Breakfasts are served freshly made and staff are extremely friendly and keen to ensure your stay is perfect. Accommodation works brilliantly for our family. Have also eaten numerous great meals here too and looking forward to return stays. Thank you for making us feel welcome and looking after us.

Stayed at B&B while travelling up from south. Great room, very clean with all amenities. Connected to pub and had an excellent 3 course meal spotted dick and custard was immense). Absolutely reccomend
