Mother India - Lewiston

Excellent food and service. Don’t miss this local gem if you are in the area. We were visiting the area for a family weekend and wanted to have friends and family join us for dinner. I had a special request from my daughter for Mother India. I needed some help ordering since I wasn’t familiar with many of the dishes. I stopped by the restaurant to place an order and get recommendations and the staff was incredibly helpful and provided excellent recommendations. When we picked up our order, everything was freshly made, perfectly packaged and labeled which made setting up a buffet style dinner very easy. It was a huge hit with our guests! The garlic naan, chicken tikka marsala, lamb, malai kofta, and kheer was delicious. Just the right amount of spice. Dinning room service is still closed but take out and Door Dash are both available. We visit the area several times a year and we always make sure to include Mother India in our visit. I highly recommend. Eat here. The food is excellent, always fresh and can be cooked to be spice friendly (if you are a weakling like me! , I'm never disappointed. The staff is outstanding as well, so friendly and kind (the kind of place that makes a point to remember your name . Our favorite takeout place! One of my favorite Indian restaurants and some of the best I've had in the states. Always have great food and friendly service. It's take out only for the foreseeable future so I do miss eating inside because it's a wonderful spot. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options! Parking: It's in downtown so parking can be a little bit out mid but overall not bad.
