The Asylum - Lewisburg

Ambiance was average bar. People were pretty nice especially the waitress although we felt a bit awkward when we were not greeted by the not busy bartender when we came in. The food was tasty but very poor presentation. The West Virginia hot dog was good but looked over cooked and the chili was much sparser than I had ever seen in a true WV dog. The beer list was great and beer was excellent. The grilled pimento cheese sandwich again tasted good but looked plain and oily. Fries were very good snd homemade chips were stellar. I just wish the food looked as good as it tasted. There’s nothing better than a WV hot dog when it’s done right. Y’all, I know, can do better! The online description sounds like a trendy bar. You gotta present better!

I had the buffalo chicken wrap, which was mostly lettuce. Did not have much chicken at all and was thrown together sloppily. Really cute place though, with great atmosphere and great service.

Absolutely delicious food. Reuben was very good as was the chicken po boy! House fries were very good!!! Service was great also.

Things were a little crazy when we visited because there was a Liv Golf tournament and Zac Brown concert that day. As a result, the restaurant was probably understaffed. However, as harried as they appeared, the staff were terrific. Our server (Natalie) was great and we enjoyed our banter together as we tried to relieve some of her stress. The kitchen must have been crazy too, but our food was terrific. So, if they can handle a day like that with such stellar results, it’s a safe bet they will be stellar on regular days too. Definitely recommended!

The dry rub wings were amazing, They have a great menu and atmosphere.
