Luca's - Letterkenny

This is a great restaurant for families. There was great choice on the menu and a good kids menu. The food was super and staff very accommodating even though it was very busy. We had two toddlers and 2 older children and 5 adults and booked the two high chairs in advance. Everyone enjoyed their food. One of the best places we have come across in the area for a family meal.

My boyfriend and I went to Lucas for my birthday meal. From the moment we walked in it was a big disappointment. We were seated and when our server came to take our order she was extremely unmanned. She never said hello, how are you today or even are you ready to order she just looked at us with her order book and waited for us to tell her our order. The food was very mediocre. My boyfriend ordered a pepperoni pizza, it was like smoked sausage and I ordered the carbonara which just wasn’t nice. My boyfriend lifted his glass to take a drink when it tipped the plate and shattered in his hand. Nobody came near us. When I called our server over to tell her she just lifted the plate with the drink and shattered glass. He still had food left, he wasn’t asked if he was finished eating, if he’d like another drink or if he was okay. We left before I finished my food, and paid full price. We definitely will not be returning.

Visited Luca's in Letterkenny on New Year's eve 2022. Had starter which was lovely but the main was undercooked. The classic burger. The burger bun was not baked very doughy and the burger had raw onions and the whole burger smelt and tasted bad. Said it to the manager and he said onions never come cooked on a burger, which was news to me) and walked away. My partner and I were not impressed. Not a very nice experience. Avoid the burgers at Luca's.

After nearly 24 hours of travel and checking into our hotel, we found Luca’s and were pleased with the service and meals. I had a wonderful frozen cocktail and my husband had a Guinness. The pizza was so good, especially the dough. A great start to what was to become a most memorable trip.

This is a nice restaurant that sells tasty food. The employees are really nice and are happy to help if you need it. The food is lovely and my family really enjoyed the carbonara! The garlic bread is really good so I recommend it. Overall, I am glad that we went to Luca's and would go back.
