Chilli Shaker - Letterkenny

To start off me and my family have been visiting this restaurant for many many years with no complaints, recently we decided to order a takeaway, and boy did we regret it! I ordered a rogan josh and when opening it my cousin pointed out it looked like watery gravy…. to my suprise it did taste like watery gravy with 0 taste. Let’s just say this place has gone to the dogs… tasted like water..Not one of my family members enjoyed one dish out of the 6 of us and we are very easy to please. I am warning you to not go near this place as the cuisine is not cuisining. Very disappointed as the food used to be so lovely in the early 00’s when me and my wife used to eat here before having kids it was an absolute treat!

Last Saturday we went and visited the Chilli Shaker, The staff were very bubbly and always around to help. I was quickly impressed by the modern layout of the place. Now to the food I had the Chicken Biyrani and it was tasty wasn't a fan of the curry though. Once we paid the check the waiter asked me if i wanted to take the rest of the meal home. Of course i said yes and it made for a good dinner the next day

There were four of us, and we arrived with no booking. This wasn’t a problem for the staff and we were seated promptly. The menu was a mix of mainly meat based meals and some vegetarian options. I went for the Vegetable Biryani. It was a little too dry for me and could have been one notch hotter. The Onion Bhaji starter was nice too. Good service.

Absolutely dreadful. Staff were so unwelcoming and accommodating. Asked for a pot of tea, no pot. Was presented with a small cup, a money making racket. Food was definitely not authentic in any way, shape or form. Would not recommend.

Visited today and very much looking forward to it .Conscious that Letterkenny has a high rate of covid cases. Upon entry lady on reception wearing no mask. Gentleman on reception wearing mask under chin. Walked out. Would not recommend if this is the lack of respect shown to customers who ARE wearing masks!
