Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a local jewel that people are absolutely wonderful, the Donairs are the best in town and the best price as well as and I have tried THOROUGHLY everywhere. I live on the west side, but I went out the way and drove over the bridge to go to this place many times. Would highly recommend. This is always my first station when I return to the city
The first time. My friend and I were overly disappointed by what we received. We order beef and chicken-shawarma plate and beef-shawarma. There were very little vegetables or beef only to bathe in sauce in the shawarma... even to eat. Great! The Shawarma plate was even worse, rice was dry and Bland, the chicken was not present and Pita bread was like a hard chip. Shame!
Donairs were all Pita. No sweet sauce or garlic sauce. Both ordered. Very little beef. Greek salad had no olives or onions. Bad food.
Only Donairs in the city I'll eat! Hands down the best beef Donairs, love the sauce and the location
Over the last year or so this place has deteriorated dramatically. In the past the food was better, the portions fair, and the service ... well, the service has always been iffy. However, this last visit might have been the straw that broke the camels...back. I ordered two regular Donairs, and asked for some extra sauce in the side. When the clerk rang in my order it was over $2 higher, and when I asked why, he explained that it was $2 for the extra sauce. When I asked how much sauce you get for $2, he said it was a lot. Hmm. He gave me the order tied into a plastic bag. When I untied it and looked in, I found a tiny plastic cup of very watery sauce. I went back and asked him if he was seriously charging me two bucks for a small amount of sauce that any other place would provide for free. He immediately said it wasn’t his fault, the owners made them charge for extra sauce. When I questioned him on the fact he said you got a lot for $2, he suddenly said that he made a mistake, and that $2 was too much, it really should be $1.30. Seriously? $1.30? He then proceeded to try to give me back 50 cents. The Donairs themselves have gotten progressively smaller, and these last ones were particularly so, a lot less meat, almost no tomatoes, no onion, and just a few shards of lettuce. And the kicker, no sauce; it was very dry, and I had made a point of asking for sauce both on the Donairs as per the menu, and the aforementioned extra sauce on the side. It’s sad, because this used to be a place that had good food, with decent portions.
