Onion Bar & Grill - Lethbridge

I came to this place for lunches and the odd diner. The dinner specials can be decent (attract the senior citizen brigade so you knows its a good value) but they are best for lunches. Sandwiches and burgers especially which are a good size and done well. Not a fancy place for sure but certainly not a bad place.

The service is not up to participate. ....levels. The food has not been what is expected for a restaurant. I wonder if new owners or management is at fault.

I just moved back to Lethbridge after being gone for 20 yrs, and happen to live very close to the onion. My brother and I came in a few days ago for dinner on the restaurant side. The food was great, but the service was atrocious. I came back in tonight for a quick beer, the kitchen staff are loud and cursing, the wait staff is practically non existent as they sit in the kitchen gossiping, while anyone sitting at the bar can hear them. I gave them a second chance, and I will be back, but only because of its proximity to my house. If you're in a hurry, or want decent service, this is not the bar/restaurant for you.

I hadn't been back in years. My business buddy suggested we go there for a change. What a mistake. To start we waited ten minutes for someone to take our drink order. Two tables were seated after us. They had their orders taken first. I counted 10 seated tables. Each with 2 to 4 people over the lunch hour. Not much of a lunch crowd. The portions were small and warm at best. A good place to avoid.
