KOKO Japanese Restaurant - Lethbridge

My husband and I have come to this restaurant on many occasions. The food is fantastic. The restaurant is run by a mom and son duo. The mother is adorable, speaks very little English but is always so gracious. For the little Japanese I understand, she is always thanking us for coming in. The son works hard and is dedicated. For how large the restaurant is and the fact that it has only been the two of them, they are wonderful. The wait time may be longer than most restaurants but the food is prepared with a lot of diligence. Definitely worth the way! The mother does such a wonderful job and the flavours are phenomenal.If you’re looking for sushi, it isn’t my favourite place in town but their hot dishes are exceptional. The best you can get!We have really enjoyed this place and will continue to go! Highly, highly recommend

Well food was an unknown for us. I was eating out with my other half. We arrived at 7:30 and were told that they weren't taking orders anymore. There sign outside said they closed at 8:30.Maybe they should update their google information and sign outside if being a hour before close you're not going to be served.The place was messy and not ready to take us anyways. Maybe under staffed? I hope they can find solutions cause I heard they were good. But this experience was NOT a good impression.

Service was terrible! Being able to place the order, and getting the food took forever. 2 members of the party finished all their food by 5-15 minutes before the 3rd person ever got their food.The teriyaki is overly sweet, the sushi rolls are small, the sushi rice is bland, and the soy sauce is overly salty.Would highly recommend to avoid this place!

Authentic Japanese food, very nice host. Katsu curry dish was delicious and clearly made from scratch even the bread crumbs. Lovely experience, highly recommended!

The food is authentic Japanese cuisine and absolutely delicious. The owners are extremely kind and genuine. The atmosphere is excellent with Japanese style and artwork, only furthering the experience. If you eat at Koko's, I would suggest the Ma-bo Ramen and tempura shrimp sushi. All-in-all excellent dining experience and unique local business.
