Contribuiți la feedbackThanks to Kurt and Ellen for a fantastic welcome. Special drinks were fantastic, everything I had was absolutely delicious. Especially the hosting was excellent, what a fabulous couple they were friendly, helpful and very warm to all customers. Can't be mistaken... Place would recommend everyone.
Kurt and Ellen are excellent hosts. The food is always super, and very generous portion sizes. The monthly fish and chip evenings are excellent, with homemade tartaric acid sauce and homemade muddy peas.
Visits with family living nearby. Kurt and Ellen were very friendly and the food was delicious both me and man had the same meal both times we visited. The locals were very welcoming and although the place was very busy on both occasions, Ellen and Kurt took their time to chat and check everything was fine. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.
Fans of Belgian food and beer, this is the place to go when you are in these parts of the Central Brittany. Like so many great places here, Le Saint Jacques is lost in the midst of fiends and forests, a few minutes only from the N164 or...Plemet. The bar area is however with locals singing at lunch and at weekends, French and expats and drinking together quite happy. Wide selection of Belgian beers on tap thanks to the owners Kurt and Ellen. The restaurant is simple, but quirkily decorated with polished old oak doors turned into tables. The menu is short but well filled with Belgian specialties, meatballs in tomato sauce, beef stew with dark beer or fish stew. The entrecôte is a thing of beauty, both in size and taste. The frits are homemade and naturally roast the Belgian species. Obviously, the products used are produced locally and selected for their quality. We have to try the desserts. Prices are very reasonable.
We ate here on evening and were so pleased with the quality, service and value that we decided to return the next evening, but unfortunately there was a music event and no food was being served. So it is worth checking out if they are...open before going there. That aside, the food is great, the lady who served us was really pleasant and welcoming, and the bill at the end represented excellent value. One piece of advice; the starters are very generous, so unless you're a big eater, try sharing one. desserts looked good but we were too full to attempt them. Recommended!
