Wow, what a great meal! We LOVED the cauliflower wings with tangy buffalo sauce (they seem to be popular based on past reviews and photos) and the seeds and berries with the lemon cheesecake was very sweet. The menu has a decent range of vegan options (savoury and sweet) and all alcoholic drinks are labelled for those who are concerned. Staff were very lovely. Great spot on Commercial St with views over the harbour. Lovely atmosphere with fairy lights.
Really enjoyed the lunch i had here, at least a couple of vegan choices on the menu i chose the buffalo cauliflower wings which were very tasty and a side of wonderful sweet tatties. As a non drinker i was pleased to note a great selection of alcohol free beers and AF gin too. Staff very friendly and helpful. I def recommend this place
At probably our most remote cruise port, we were able to find a restaurant that had vegan options. We stopped in for lunch and hubby and I both ordered the PEA, SPINACH BUTTERBEAN burger and the SWEET TATTIE FRIES. The fries came up first with the included sauce, but the menu can be a little confusing as the fries are marked (Vg) and the Maple Mustard Mayo (V). This means the fries themselves are vegan, but the sauce is vegetarian. We even asked if the sauce was vegan and one of the runners said it was. We showed him the menu and he went to confirm with the owner/manager who stated it, in fact, was NOT vegan. The burger was decent. The patty was reminiscent of a BOCA burger that was slightly mushy, but not overly so. The fries were also good. Our non-vegan friends who dined with us enjoyed their SHETLAND BATTERED HADDOCK, so it seemed like they did a good non-vegan business as well. We had to wait for a table when we arrived and there was a constant line while we were dining, so this place is popular. Granted, there were two ships in port that day, so the population of the town probably more than doubled and there wasn't a large selection of restaurants in town. I probably won't get back to Lerwick again, but it's nice to know that even in remote parts of the world, in small towns, it is possible to find a restaurant that serves some vegan food.
Busy, popular place. Vegan options (including the drinks) clearly labelled. Limited selection of mains suitable for vegans. Friendly staff.
