Formally the Elkorn the new name now being the Paddock is a quaint little cafe/ restaurant situated between Leopold and Oceangrove in Wallington. We called in just for coffees and smelt and saw the food being served and stayed for lunch. We both had the burgers which are "home made" not those prepackaged so called burgers which have every part of the animal ground up in them. They came with fries and the burger is large just what you expect when your order a burger. It had cheese,Deep fried onion rings, lettuce, pickles but you can ask for it not to have pickles if you don't like them, unlike me I love them and I think it came with tomatoes but can't remember as just recall the delicious taste and for only $17.50 you can't go wrong. We sat on the outside covered verandaed area which was lovely and the staff very friendly. If I had negative they could have put the outside heating on as it was very cool out there, but that said we could have eaten inside but it is lovely on the decking. If passing through call in and have a coffee as thats good to and who knows you might be tempted as we were, well worth a visit, enjoy.
Situated off Wallington Road in Ocean Grove, the Paddock is a cute little cafe located, well, in a paddock. Don't be deceived from the outside, this cafe has comfortable seating indoors and some amazing food and coffee. A small kids play area caters to families and children too. Definitely try two dishes - the zucchini and haloumi fritters, and the eggs Benedict that comes on sweet hash browns. Hmmm yummm!!!Friendly and knowledgeable staff that are happy to chat and provide useful information to tourists on the local area.Coffee 5 out of 5. Will return here when we head to Ocean Grove again.
We came out for breakfast Easter morning. Such a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful menu. Bonus was an Easter hunt for the kids in the paddock out the back. It's so good at The Paddock as there is a kids area so my son plays happily while we drink coffee & kombucha in peace! The zucchini fritters with beetroot relish is one of the best breakfasts I've had! Such a lovely location and nice drive to get out of town and great service.
Great food and very child friendly. Breakfast feast was delicious especially the mushrooms and spinach. Little grandson enjoyed the play equipment. We will be back for more visits. Fantastic staff!!!
