We ate twice in the garden restaurant, although we had to eat in the bar, as we had our dog with us, which was good. The food is awfully overpriced and, honestly, not especially. Just a moment out. I ate the braided lamb called “mint jus”. There was no mint scrap on the plate. I asked some mint sauce and made the mistake to wait until it arrived before eating my food. It took so long to come, I had to leave the table and talk to an employee. After all, it came at what time my food was cold. Don't worry. The “minte sauce” was actually hot! It was hard, even without signs of mint. And for this court I was charged £26.95 10% service). Awful.

The environment was beautiful and the service was great. Food was fine, but sticky toffee pudding tasted over-mirowaved and was very dense, chew and caramelized.

The restaurant ran out of Sirloin Steak on Valentine's Day at 6:30 p.m., but the food we chose was delicious. The service was usually slow, apart from a male waiter who was nice and helpful. Some of the foods seemed to be overpriced, £13 for a sticky toffee pudding.

5 out of 10 feels generous, but mainly because I could see the staff were trying. The place is desperately understaffed and dirty plates and glasses pile up on tables (during dinner, but especially at the breakfast service). The food itself is poor and very overpriced. Starters and desserts were passable. The wine list is short, uninteresting and again, overpriced. In the list of 'rich ' red wines, the cheapest bottle is £30 then leaps to £54, then to £59 and up to £71. We ate there three nights, due to a dinner, bed and breakfast offer itself poor value, as each person gets a budget of £25 for dinner. There is almost nothing on offer on the mains under £25. Lamb on the first night was OK; steak the second night also OK (at £32); the chicken on the third night was poor. Sides also bad. I would not return, and would not recommend.
